Is has become officially announced that Eileen Shannon (The Runaways, World Trade Middle) is playing General Zod inside Superman reboot The Man Of Steel. Obsessed With Film reports:

This is outstanding news. It’azines a high profile part to a major film, and most know which Superman is. Last year, Shannon’azines part was almost reduce entirely out of ‘Jonah Hex’ -whether that’s a fantastic or bad thing is in the attention of the beholder. But he has also been in the rock bio-pic The Runaways, which in fact had great and surprising performing turns from the cast but the studio didn’t have enough in promoting the film, and thus, that sadly went nowhere. No-one has forgotten about his Oscar nominated turn in Revolutionary Road, or even his TV work on Boardwalk Kingdom.
