Bollywood movies getting shorter and shorter

Most of us know that some of the movies made in 1970s were more than three hours in duration. Most of the professional movies till 90s ended up made three hours manage and if the movie did not have got that much to show, some tunes or dance sequences have been added or deleted making it up to the needed number of hours.

Bollywood cinema and even the kollywood theatre have a strange practice of getting into dream sequences coming from real life drama and then you go to a song or dance interrupting the real stuff. This phenomenon helps the movie makers to maintain the duration of the movie however frustrates audience. Now over the last ten years, many changes can be seen in Hindi cinema. The multiplex culture party favors movies of short timeframe. Initially the people who were chronic of watching three hours movies would feel the duration unsatisfying for the cost of the ticket but now with a number of choices for entertainment and the busy life-style –120 minutes or even lesser period is a good choice.

Short timeframe movies could be screened often in a day which raises the opportunity to get more audience on the first couple of days of release and these films get most of their collection in the initial screenings. A few of the short movies which were profitable in getting great response ended up Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bheja Fry, Atithi Kab Jaoge, Toh Baat Pakki etc.

It takes not more than forty – five days to shoot these types of short movies and the movie makers are excessively profited if these films work. The particular directors have reduced the amount of songs and also unnecessary combat and drama in these short movies .Now the movies are usually straighter forward depicting the story that makes it better than the longer version.
